Beware

I was getting really into the Brahms, and to keep up with the volume, I was pedaling like a madwoman.  Then I felt it.  Ouch.  I must have hit my toe in the pedal.  But I couldn’t stop then.  I was on a roll.

I soon forgot about pain in my toe.  After I finished the Brahms, I decided to check on my toe.  Well, shoot.  There’s blood ALL OVER my second toe.  There’s a deep cut on the fleshy side of my toe.  It bled onto my big toe.  My sister discovers that I bled all over the pedal.  Great.  Mom poured some dreaded peroxide onto it, and fastened a band-aid.  It’s all good now.

Beware- piano practice can result in blood loss.

  1. This is double HAAHAHAHHAHA! Blood loss! At least it wasn't from fist fighting, like at my house. (Wait, where did that enthusiasm go... I must find a prize for the best boxer or something.)

When I write a book for how to play piano, this will be page one....

    Prepare to play:
    * Check bench for distance from the piano.
    * Sit with your back straight, leaning slightly forward.
    * Check finger position. Fingers should be softly rounded, as though there was a bubble between your palm and the keys. Don't break the bubble.
    * Make sure First Aid Kit is within easy reach. The first aid kit should include bandaids, peroxide, and triple antibiotic ointment for minor cuts and scrapes. It should include an instant-ice pack, Ace bandages and therma-care heat packs for forearm muscle strains.
    * Cell phone, with 911 preprogrammed for more serious injuries. Use Facebook and send text messages between pieces to improve finger nimblity. The alert sounds should be turned up loud, as to accompany the pianist. Proficient texters can achieve a metronome affect.
    * Obtain a semen tank. This is the perfect place to keep a diet coke and bottle of advil. Never set these items on the piano.

  2. BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, we have a semen tank in the piano room! That may be my next blog.....

    You are way too funny!

Our piano is jacked up on pieces of wood, which makes the pedals WAY off the ground. Thus, we have a big textbook that we put under the pedals; we keep our feet on it. You are just cracking me up!
