If I am using an umbrella and have to get in a car, I always seem to get soaked in the process of closing the umbrella and closing the car door. For that reason, it has to raining really hard for me to justify use of an umbrella on the way to the car.
Anyway, maybe I haven't been properly trained on how to do this. Perhaps there is an umbrella basic training course, like a gun firing range, except with showers that dump massive amounts of water.
And this reminds me of a FB post my son made, which reminds me about "the red button". It might become a blog. Here is the recent FB post. It is tame.
~Tyler: Curiosity didn't kill the cat this time... Just got him and his bag a little wet.
~Tyler: I'm the cat. I pulled the emergency shower in the chem lab building.
~Eric Myers: I've always wanted to do that, or use those eye fountains.
~Tyler: the eye fountains aren't that cool. The shower, on the other hand, can dump a scary amount of water in a very short amount of time.
~Tish Robinson Odom: Good Lord. It's the red button all over again.

~Tyler: It was not the red button. It was an unmarked lever inside the handicapped stall of the bathroom. The shower was recessed into the ceiling, you had to look directly at it to see it. So. Meh
