I believe that I have informed the general reader of the following, but I shall reiterate just 'cause. Dr. Singalot(yes, that's his blog name) informed me that I was still singing in my choir voice, and that I needed to develop a soloist voice. So I did. Well, I came out of my choir voice anyways. Back to the vibrato. Since birth, and maybe even before, I have been flooded with a fear of vibrato. Those billy goat singers are to be feared and avoided at all cost. So, naturally, I should withhold vibrato for as long as possible, right? Wrong, apparently. Dr. Singalot said that it was OK, and that it was natural, and that- *breath*- some of it was just shaking. I can deal with this. I would hate to be one of those singers jumping octaves with my vibrato. I am starting to get used to the whole "trust the teacher" thing. In piano, I can trust my judgement. In voice, I cannot.
He actually told my mom to call his cell. So, she did. Guess what his ringtone is? A billy goat. Yep. My fears are much lessened.

Also, congratulations on being normal. The whole immortality thing is a lot to live up to. I am glad it's OK that you have a bit of Billy Goat going on. :) At least for the moment. I didn't suppose that you were about to grow horns or anything!
BigB is also having to work at getting "out" of her choir voice. She can get out of it fine singing Aaas and Ees and Dees. But with real words, it comes right back.
I need to know how to do the line out. I've tried, unsuccessfully to do that. Instructions, please!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean by it being harder to have a solo voice when singing actual words, but it gets better.
The there is a button that has ABC and a slash over it. I can't remember how I got it to work. I either highlighted the phrase and pressed the button or I pressed the button and typed.
